What Freedom Means to Me
By Matthew Navarro
As a citizen of the United States, freedom means being able to make choices. I can choose where to live and where to go. I can also choose what to wear. Being able to make my own choices is a good way to describe freedom.
In the United States , we are allowed to pick which school to go to. We which video games and which movies we watch. For example, if you like action movies and comedies, you can choose to watch those kinds of movies without people telling you otherwise.
In the United States, we are allowed to choose which books to read. If you like My Side of the Mountain , you can read that book. If you like Harry Potter books, you can choose that book. In Countries without freedom, you might not be able to read that specific book.
In the United States, we have freedom to choose our own religion. If you want to be Christion, you can go to church and learn about God Whenever you want. If you want to be Muslim, you can choose to go to a mosque. There are many countries in this world where you could get thrown in jail for practicing certain religions.
I’m grateful that I can live in the United States and have freedom. I’m grateful to be able to choose what I want to do. This is what freedom means to me.
